Appreciating MLM Lead Generation And How Critical It Is To Growing Your Business Constantly

People who are involved in sales, advertising, and small business ownership will be quick to testify that connecting with people on a personal basis is the easiest way to create a customer base. The connections reverberate throughout the company and it shows when customer service is good or bad. When the idea of personal service takes hold, people notice the difference because many are used to dealing with impersonal and disgruntled employees that turn off the most ardent buyers. Growing a strong customer network is how a business survives. It is imperative to comprehend MLM lead generation and how critical it is to growing your business.

The network marketing, or MLM world is created around the idea that contacts are built from individual connections. This concept has made poor people rich beyond their wildest dreams. The idea of making direct connections goes back to the mid 1800s when ketchup producer Henry Heinz began marketing his ketchup and pickle wares. He created one of the first commission based systems where the sales people were paid based on performance. Growing from this idea, the network marketing world has experienced incredible growth.

Mary Kay Ash and Earl Tupper were among the first to turn the sales people into company owners, allowing them to replicate their own sales force. The distributor, as they were called, could sell the product and recruit others to do the same. The rewards would grow as the network would grow. Before cell phones, Internet, and conference calling became the preferred methods of communication the only way to grow each company was through the personal, face to face contacts. Often, new business owners would not reach beyond their own city limits.

The idea of circles of contacts was the basic premise by starting with the close friends and family for level one. Even though not everyone would participate or purchase, they would be able to provide other resources for a level two contact list. The second level consisted of friends of friends. Eventually, the lists would become cold and the original level owner would not actually know the people he or she was calling. With the recruitment idea, the networks would grow and each level would create their own level one contacts. With each level being created by personal relationships, the contact lists would never go cold.

The Internet came about and with its popularity came a shift of contact procurement that was through lists, email, websites, and social networks. Though this did provide a huge surge in growth, the contacts were often not loyal because they never were first level contacts, with the personal connection.

Though many try to use only the Internet for generating revenue, the possibility is much more difficult that it should be. Getting away from the principals of personal contacts and relationships to develop the leads, the lists may grow big but are not strong or targeted lists. Many seem to feel that simply creating a website will generate revenue without having to take th time to grow the business.

Once an owner has the ability to combine the two ideas together, the ability to grow to the next level is within arm’s reach. By using the daily communication and contacts, the business owner can build a global network. The basics still apply. The owner still needs to build the relationships on a daily basis. If contact is lost, the sales will begin to suffer.

The person connection is the strongest way to build a network. Owners who wander away from the basics and assume that new technology will simply make it happen soon find that their network has dwindled for lack of nurture. Making the daily, persona connections is the way to build the network.
